I just took my boys for haircuts - they all look so cute when they've just had a hair cut. What can I say, I'm their mom...
My oldest went to the gym again with me today and it makes me feel so happy that he actually even wants to do that with me. A lot of teens would die being seen with their mother at her gym! It really warms my heart. And we had a good time, too. I even tried a new gym machine I never did before - the rower. My son had done it before, knew how to set it up, and he preferred it to the bike, so I said I would do the rower with him. It was fun! We only had to do 10 minutes on it, which went okay, but I would definitely have to build up to do a longer workout on it. We both had the start of blisters on our hands when we were done.
It was a lot less busy at the gym than I expected for the first day of the new year. But all the regulars were there!
Our workout was:
- 5 minute warm up on the treamill
- 10 minute fast walk at 3% incline
- 10 minutes rowing
- 12 minuite elliptical
- 2x 16 chest presses
- 2x 16 lat pull downs
- 16 leg curls
- 2x 12 leg presses
- 12 French presses
- abs

I love that you went to the gym together again! I am interested in trying a rowing machine someday. We do a move w/o the machine that is supposed to be like using it, where we hold a dumbbell and go forward and back. It can really work your abs if you remember to clench them!!!
No pics of the haircuts? :P
Rowers are evil!!! OK, I row quite frequently but indoor rowing is not my favorite exercise though if done vigorously is a wonderful workout. And yes, gloves for me are a must.
I totally forgot that usually teens do not like showing up with their moms. Strangely enough in our homeschool community that is not the case. Maybe it is the social pressure in schools. Anyway, I am still enjoying my teen's company and vice versa (I think).
I like the idea of trying a new machine for the new year. And I love that the boys all got their hair cut to start the year off looking their most handsome best. (I always loved how the boys looked with their hair freshly cut too - neat and tidy)
Happy New Year Amy!
Great that your son went with you again and why wouldn't he go with you, you're a cool Mom!
Great workout to start the new year with.
I tried a rower once and it seemed to be painful on my back, but I'm open to trying it again. I love that you and your son worked out together again - that shows that your relationship is good. (I've got three teens myself!)
Nice post. I was checking constantly this blog and I am impressed! Extremely useful information specifically the last part :) I care for such information much. I was seeking this particular information for a long time. Thank you and best of luck.
