Wow! I just had the greatest run! The weather was perfect, sunny and bright with all the beautiful fall colors sparkling through the trees. I wore my new shorts again and was plenty warm with just a short sleeve shirt.
Stefaan started out with me but turned back home after the first 4 kilometers because he just wasn't into doing the 15 I had on my schedule. I looped around past the abbey and into the path through the corn fields for a bit before arriving at the park with the big lake where I took a quick water break and a gel. Then continued on - I had to watch out in a few spots where the chestnut trees are busy dropping their chestnuts on the path, which makes it a bit dangerous. Did two loops around the lake and then returned back the way I came, enjoying it all the way. I didn't even mind when my Ipod's battery died when I still had 4 kilometers to go - I was having too much fun!
When I got home my oldest son had a surprise for me - a Reeses peanut butter cup! What a treat after a long run - I definitely think I earned it.
We just had lunch and in a bit we are expected at a surprise party for our neighbors who are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary - and you couldn't ask for better weather for a party.
I hope it's sunny where you are and that you have a great Sunday!

Awesome run!! We are having some nice weather too!
I live in Germany and I am loving the weather! I ran 5.5 miles today and just wanted to keep going (except I promised to be home and make lunch) I am hoping that the weather stays gorgeous for a few more weeks.. pretty please!
I'm so glad that you had a nice long run around the lake and along a path with all the beautiful fall colors.
Best wishes to your neighbors who are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary :) Have a nice evening Amy|
Perfection! :)
We're going apple picking this afternoon...and it's nice and sunny here too, but a little chilly.
Wauw! 15K! I'm not there yet, next weekend 12 is going to be my challenge which will be my longest so far. But as we run in about the same time your 15K time is something I can expect when I finally am ready to do that.
The weather was indeed perfect for running today. I had a rest day but did take a nice walk with Bella.
What can be better than a treat like that after a great run? We had a sunny and warm (32°C) Sunday here in South Africa.
Glad you had a great run. The weather here has been wonderful. Makes running so much nicer than in the summer.
Sounds like a totally great day!
I loved collecting chestnuts when I was a kid and making chestnut people and animals. Fall is a wonderful time of year.
Glad your weather is good - certainly makes runs so much more enjoyable.
Glad you had a great long run in a perfect day. Here it's always sunny, we are blessed to live in this place even if someone is trying to waste the environment to get money!
Wow! The way you described it it does sound like a beautiful amazing run! You are great with words.
And choc + PB?! YES! ANYTIME! My new fave thing is to mix peanuts with chocolate chips and eat them ;)
